The Forehead: wrinkles and, imperfections

The forehead is one of the most visible areas of the face: it is there that our expressions are formed, between surprise, happiness and anger. But it is therefore on the forehead that the first wrinkles appear, due to skin ageing. With horizontal wrinkles, frown lines or imperfections, the forehead undergoes many changes. So how do you meet the specific needs of the front lines?

Forehead wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles are a typical example of expression lines. They are formed during repeated contractions of the occipitofrontal muscle and the eyebrow muscles. What does it give in practice? Every time you frown or raise your eyebrows, spot wrinkles appear. The more expressive you are, the faster the wrinkles appear!

In addition, wrinkles appear naturally with age: around 25, the skin begins to lose 1% of collagen each year. This loss of collagen refines the skin, causes it to lose volume and results in a gradual thinning of the skin with age.

The lion’s wrinkle, a frown is another wrinkle of expression, between the eyebrows to the end of the front. The lion’s wrinkle is the one that gives a little harsh air to our faces. This wrinkle is accentuated each time you frown. It is, however, rarer than frowning and usually does not appear until around the age of 50.

The forehead tendency to imperfections

The forehead is part of the T zone: the skin in this zone is traditionally oilier than the skin on the rest of the face. We, therefore, tend to see more dilated pores at the beginning of the forehead, and small imperfections may appear. It is also often the first area where you get UV rays exposure on the face: rather than a glow, it is easy for a forehead to appear “greasy”.

Respond to the specific needs of the front

3 major solutions are available to you to smooth forehead wrinkles and reduce imperfections: intensive facial gym sessions, a personal and regular facial skin care routine and suitable cosmetics. We recommend that you focus more on your skincare routine because caring for skin helps to enhance and maintain the natural quality of the skin.

If you want long-term effects, 5 minutes of the facial gym every night is enough to see noticeable results:

– For lion’s wrinkle, take your Jade roller. After removing your makeup apply a vitamin C serum and, take the wavy side of your roller. Pass it horizontally to go against the direction of the wrinkle. Manually put one finger on the right corner of the beginning of the nose and another finger above the beginning of the left eyebrow. Make like an S with your skin by running your fingers inward. Leave your skin for five minutes then apply your skin moisturizer and again use a roller.

– For forehead wrinkles, take your roller. After removing your makeup apply Vitamin C serum. Pass it horizontally from right to left to go against the lines of the forehead wrinkles. Manually, back and forth with your thumb vertically, from right to left on the forehead. Then rest the skin for five minutes then apply your moisturiser and repeat massaging your skin.

To control slow skin ageing, look to bakuchiol, peptides or treatments rich in vegetable oils. The bakuchiol is an anti-ageing booster that accelerates cell renewal while the peptides stimulate collagen production. Moisturizers with a rich texture help nourish the skin and restore volume to the skin texture. If you also have some blemishes, lotions enriched with niacinamide, tea tree oil and AHA effectively prevents acne.
