Tips to hide open pores on the face

Open pores can lead to blackheads or acne. We show you how to close the open pores of the face with home and natural remedies.

Many theories affirm that it is possible to completely close open pores and many gurus sell you miraculous creams to speed up the process. Well, if you agree with the above, sorry to tell you that if you ask a professional dermatologist, they will tell you that you have lived a lie since today it is almost impossible to eliminate open pores.

Now, this does not mean that we have to settle for the size of our pores, much less if they look unsightly and make our faces ugly. According to the experts, it is not possible to eliminate the open pores of our skin, but we can fight them, hide them and clean them so that those happy holes in the skin that bother us so much are not appreciated and diminished.

But how can we make enlarged pores appear smaller? The answer is none other than a good facial cleansing routine.

We are not going to lie to you, you can also go to an aesthetic clinic to have a facial chemical peel done and forget about the problem for a while, but it is guaranteed that the cleaning routine is essential even when you undergo these very direct treatments. So take note and start a routine today that saves you from those holes in the skin continuing to accumulate fat and impurities, and eventually causing more serious problems such as acne and other disorders.

Steam shower

This is undoubtedly the most recommended and simple home remedy so that your open pores are minimized, but it is not magic, you must follow a series of steps by heart :

  • Wash your face to remove dirt.
  • Boil a saucepan with water, when it is boiling, turn off the heat and pour the contents into a container that can withstand the heat.
  • Bring your face close to the container without reaching the water and place a towel over your head.
  • Hold for about 10 minutes under the towel.
  • Wash your face immediately with cold water.
  • You can add some extract to the water, such as tea tree oil, which is very useful for fighting acne, but pure vapours are enough.

Something you should keep in mind is that this treatment is not to be done daily, since repeatedly steaming can make your skin red. Ideally, you should do it once every two weeks approximately.

The Ice

The application of ice to the face makes the skin firmer and as a result, the pores are significantly reduced in size. But we should not apply ice directly to the face, so without thinking, you must understand that excess cold also burns and if you do not follow these steps you may suffer consequences:

  • Wash your face beforehand, it must be clean to undergo the treatment.
  • Take an ice cube from the freezer and wrap it in a thin cloth.
  • Pass the ice all over the face, but not more than 30 seconds.
  • Do this a couple of times a week right after you get out of the shower.
  • Keep the first step in mind, if you do not clean your face beforehand you will not remove the dirt since the only thing that ice does is give tension to the skin.

Sodium Bicarbonate

Baking soda can help us fight acne since it dries the skin. But, for the same reason, we cannot abuse it since we could dry it out excessively and end up saying the typical phrase “the remedy is worse than the disease”, right?

So pay attention because this is the best way to apply it to your face:

  • Make a paste with a tablespoon of baking soda and water.
  • Only apply this paste in the most affected areas
  • Massage circularly like a scrub, never more than 30 seconds.
  • Leave the mixture to act for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove by rinsing with lukewarm water.

If you have combination or oily skin, you can start this treatment by applying it for a full week and then reducing it to 2 or 3 days a week. But if your skin tends to be rather dry, it is best that you resort to other treatments or that you apply bicarbonate only 1 or 2 times a week combined with a good moisturizer.

The trick is to consider a fixed routine and be faithful to it because it is useless to apply some of these treatments once a month and then forget about it. Consistency is the key to always keeping your skin in perfect condition.
