Wrinkles can add character to our faces, for this reason it is not harmful to spot one here or there. However, it can get out of control and that that is where most people draw the line and prefer to control wrinkles. The question is how can you control or clear wrinkles? Find out in this article.
Use sun protection
Sun protection is a key part of any skincare regimen, as wrinkles and fine lines can be the result of long-term sun exposure.
> Wear an SPF 30 or higher daily.
> UV rays are most intense between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., so try to stay out of direct sunlight during these hours.
> Apply one ounce (two tablespoons) at least 15 minutes before going outside, then reapply after two hours in the sun or immediately after swimming.
Retinoids
Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives that are popular in anti-aging skincare. They can reduce wrinkles and improve your skin’s tone, but they do come with side effects like redness and flaking. Over time, these side effects may decrease as the treatment becomes more tolerable for you. If redness or flaking is a concern for you, I would recommend starting out with a retinoid that has a lower concentration of active ingredients, applying it every other day at first, and gradually increasing to daily use once your skin adjusts to the product.
Moisturizers are the workhorses of anti-aging creams. They help your skin maintain its natural moisture barrier and keep out pollutants that can damage or dry out your skin. It’s important to give moisturizer enough time to fully absorb into your skin as well, because if you don’t wait long enough, it may be rubbed or washed off.
The best way to moisturize is just after getting out of the shower or washing your face. This is when your face will be slightly damp, which helps spread the moisturizer more evenly and make it more effective (and less wasteful). If you’re looking for an extra boost of hydration, a hydrating serum can help provide deeper moisture while also reducing the amount of moisturizer needed overall.
When choosing a moisturizer, make sure to avoid harsh sulfates and parabens that can do more harm than good over time. Parabens are added preservatives used in many cosmetics; they have been linked with increased risks for certain types of cancer and endocrine disorders. Avoiding sulfates is particularly challenging because this ingredient is found in so many products as a foaming agent, but since there’s no real good reason for it in facial cleansers anyway (your face doesn’t need to be foamy), you’ll want to eliminate those from your routine too.
Amarrie Retinol Moisturizer + Vitamin C Serum For Dull Skin
Amarrie® Retinol Face Cream delivers the apple stem cell extract and the highest concentration of pro-retinol (Vitamin A) and, the fastest retinol currently available, deep into skin’s surface. It works effectively and quickly to even out the appearance of fine lines.
Hydration
Hydration plays a big part in the appearance of your skin. Drinking water throughout the day will keep your skin hydrated and looking plump, which can help with limiting wrinkles.
- Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up.
- Carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go, and drink from it throughout the day.
- Drink a glass of water before each meal to help fill up your stomach so you don’t overeat, and for its hydrating benefits
Diet
- Eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. One of the best ways to prevent wrinkles is through healthy eating, and it all starts with focusing on your diet. Fruits and vegetables are great sources of antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals. Some examples include spinach, berries, tomatoes, carrots, avocados, and walnuts.
- Eat more vitamin C and vitamin E. Both vitamins C and E are antioxidants that can help fight skin aging. You can get vitamin C from citrus fruits (like oranges), bell peppers, broccoli, strawberries, sweet potatoes, kale and Brussels sprouts; and you can get vitamin E from almonds or sunflower seeds.
- Eat lean proteins. Lean protein sources like fish provide amino acids that can build collagen in your skin to keep it looking healthy as you age. Other excellent choices are eggs (which contain lots of vitamins A and B12), beans (for their iron content) red meat (for its zinc content)
